Alistair Hansen has won the Nottinghamshire County Singles title.

 

On Sunday 29th March, Alistair took on Brian Subden (Gedling) in an attempt to retain the title he won in 2008.  Alistair came through in style, winning a close game 21-19 to lift the trophy.

 

The County Singles win tops a good year for Alistair, having qualified in the National Pairs with Phil Broughton, the National Mixed Fours with Broughton, Helen Mason and Margaret Lomas; whilst also being part of the Nottingham team that reached the semi-final of the Egham Trophy where they lost to Desborough Maidenhead. This was despite Alistair's rink winning 31-11.

 

Alistair will be looking to continue his good form into the Nottingham IBC club finals, where he faces Phil Broughton in the Men's Singles final on Saturday 18th April 2009. Hansen, playing with Mike Kent, will also be looking to add the men's pairs title to his collection, when they face Phil Rigby & Frank Dorkes on Sunday 19th April 2009.
