 Two of Nottingham's finest women bowlers have lifted the British Isles Pairs title. Nottingham Indoor Bowls Centre ladies Pam Cutts and Sue Mart yesterday followed up their recent National Pairs win by taking the British Isles Ladies Pairs Championship, played at Llanelli Indoor Bowls Club. The ladies from Nottingham, full of confidence from winning the ladies National Pairs title only a fortnight ago, narrowly defeated the Channel Isles' pairing of Carol Ingrouille and Alison Merrien in the semi-final 16-15. Mart & Cutts then followed up their narrow victory with a resounding 25-18 win against Scotland's Kathleen Soudan & Michelle Cooper. To see a few photographs taken at Llanelli - click here. Sue Mart and Pam Cutts will be joined by team-mate Audrey Pinder for the ladies two-wood over 50s triples - to be played at Nottingham IBC as part of the EIBA/EWIBA National Championships from 4th - 13th April 2008. Club News, 18th March 2008 Nottingham lost out in today's Denny Cup semi-final, losing to Peterborough by 21 shots (78-59). Peterborough came into the game full of confidence having beaten 3-times previous winners Egham in the quarter-final and their confidence showed by coming back from an early deficit to take the game by over 20 shots.. Commiserations to the Nottingham players and congratulations to Peterborough, who went on to face Cumbria in this afternoon’s Denny Cup Final. The Cumbrian's having overcome Kingsthorpe (Northants) in today’s other semi-final. Peterborough could not continue their good form into the afternoon though, losing out to a strong Cumbria side by 41 shots. Nottingham 59 – 78 Peterborough Some of today’s players thoughts now turn to the National Championships to be held at Nottingham from 4th – 13th April 2008. Club News, 9th March 2008  Many Congratulations to Nottingham's Sue Mart and Pam Cutts, EWIBA Ladies National Pairs Champions 2007-08! Sue & Pam clinched the title by beating Sutton Ladies Sharon Rickman and Judy Miller in this afternoon's final 24-18. Sue & Pam had earlier beaten Bailey/Whittingham (Preston Brighton) 18-15 in Round 1, Leach/Gunn ((MidGlos) 28-4 in the Quarter-Finals and Webb/Roylance of North Walsham 21-13 in the Semi-Final. The ladies win takes Nottingham's national title haul to 3 so far this year, sitting proudly alongside Simon & Derek Skelton's Father & Son pairs win and the inter-club under 25 double rink titles.
